First official pictures of the Volkswagen Saveiro

We have here the first set of official pictures showing the next generation of the Volkswagen Saveiro pickup truck. Few people know that Volkswagen actually has a pickup truck in their range of models. Still, the Volkswagen Saveiro is available exclusively for the South American market. From what we can see in the pictures, the new generation of the Volkswagen Saveiro will have a new front end design that was inspired from the styling patterns of the Volkswagen Tiguan that is available on the European market. The Volkswagen Saveiro will get its power from a 1.6 liter four cylinder engine that will run on either gasoline or ethanol blends. Believe it or not, the competition on the South American market is rough. Thus, the Volkswagen Saveiro will compete against models like the Ford Courier, Fiat Strada or the Chevrolet Montana.

The South American market is an incredibly awkward one in comparison to the other markets. On the South American car market we can find cars that are not sold anywhere else in the world. The reason is very simple. South America is a generally very poor continent. People that live in South America are generally poor. Because of this, the vast majority of automakers have speculated that, even the poor people need cars to go from point A to point B and created very cheap cars destined exclusively for the South American market that fit perfectly to the needs of the people living in South America.
