Production version of Land Rover LRX coming next year

According to some recent rumors, the British automaker Land Rover owned by the Indian company Tata, might launch the production ready version of the concept SUV named LRX by the summer of the 2010. The Land Rover LRX concept made its public debut in 2008 on North American soil during the Detroit Auto Show. According to these rumors, the British automaker Land Rover is set to publicly present the production ready version of the LRX on the 17th of June 2010. This date was not chosen randomly. On the 17th of June, Land Rover will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the launch of the brand`s original Range Rover model. The development process for the Land Rover LRX seems to be making quick progress thanks to a combination of a grant worth of 27 million pounds given by the British government and some added financial capital infused by the Indian owners Tata. Thanks to this combination of factors, there is no real reason for which the Land Rover LRX should not be presented on schedule, on the 17th of June 2010.

Speculations claim that the Land Rover LRX might be built on the same platform as the Freelander 2. Also, the same rumors point out that a hybrid version of the LRX is under development. The production of the Land Rover LRX will start in 2011 while the effective sales of the car to begin in 2012. The Land Rover LRX is a very interesting concept. Hopefully, it will reach production state as soon as possible, because this model might actually be the savior of the British automaker owned by the Indian company Tata Motors.
