28th of August 2009 The superb Alfa Romeo 159 compact executive have arrived on British soil in both sedan and SW (Sport Wagon) forms. The 2010 Alfa Romeo 159 made its public debut in Switzerland this year at the Geneva Auto Show. The most important new features of the 2010 Alfa Romeo 159 are the two new Euro 5 turbocharged engines. I am talking about the engines named 1750 TBi petrol and 2.0 JTDM diesel. Also, the range structure for the British market has been slightly revised.
The 1750 Tbi version of the Alfa Romeo 159 gets its power from a 1.75 liter direct injection turbocharged engine that has an output of 200 HP and 320 Nm of torque. Thanks to the performances of this engine, the Alfa Romeo 159 manages to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 7.7 seconds while managing to achieve a top speed of 236 km/h. The average declared fuel consumption of this engine is of 8.1 liters per 100 kilometers, which is now a bad figure.
The 2.0 JTDM diesel engine develops no less than 170 HP at 4000 revs per minute and 360 Nm of torque between 1750 revs per minute and 2500 revs per minute. With this engine the Alfa Romeo manages to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 8.8 seconds while managing to achieve a maximum speed of 219 km/h. The promised average fuel consumption of this diesel engine is of 5.4 liters per 100 kilometers.
The 2010 Alfa Romeo 159 will be available in five trim levels. To be more precise, I am talking about Turismo, Turismo Sport, Elegante, Lusso and the ever so powerful TI.
The new Alfa Romeo 159 Turismo Sport has some new features like sports dials, 17 inch alloy wheels, sports leather steering wheel with remote audio controls and gear knob, Blue&Me technology and sports seat cloth.
The Alfa Romeo 159 Elegante version has some extra features like specific seat and door panel upholstery, rear parking sensors and visibility pack.
The price levels for the Alfa Romeo 159 are very variable, so it is best if you took a look below at the pricing levels picture guide. To give you an idea, the Alfa Romeo 159 1750 Bti and 2.0 JTDM are available from 21.800 pounds.
