9 years after September 11, 2001 (when the terrorist attack happen), a motorcycle riders group plans a journey across U.S., paying a tribute to those forty heroes that died in the name of freedom that day.
This journey is named 'Ride with the Forty', honoring the forty crew members and passengers, stopping United Flight 93, diverting away from its target - Washington, DC - crashing instead in a PA, Shanksville field. The riders will flight the path over the land starting in Newark, ending in San Francisco.
At 8:42 am the 'Ride with the Forty' will begin, that's the Flight 93's real departure time, on September 3, on Newark Liberty International Airport, stop in Shanksville on the same day, ending on September 11 at San Francisco. You can place the tribute items there, on that traveling memorial, making donations for the Flight 93 National Memorial's permanent construction.
Ken Nacke, Families of Flight 93's member affirmed ' 'Ride with the Forty' will finish what the 40 heroes could not. We hope that people will join us as we ride to complete their intended flight path and remember their great sacrifice'.
Families of Flight 93's vice president - Patrick White said 'The traveling temporary Flight 93 memorial is a powerful reminder of the courageous, final act of the 40 passengers and crew. By taking it with us, we hope to remind America that those who died in freedom's name on September 11 must always be remembered'.
