The FPV (Ford Performance Vehicles) series have just received new entry level products. To be more precise, the Falcon GS sedan and ute (coupe utility vehicle) models are new entry level products to the FPV range of vehicles. It is interesting to know that the Falcon GS was named back in the 1960s after the original Australian model.
The FPV (Ford Performance Vehicle) GS is the budget series of the Falcon GT. Both the ute (coupe utility vehicle) and sedan will get their power from a V8 5.4 liter petrol engine that has an output of 405 horsepower and 551 Nm of torque.
The sedan and ute (coupe utility vehicle) versions of the Falcon GS have a number of very interesting features, including dual zone climate control, specific race stripes, Bluetooth technology, a charcoal cloth interior, a premium sound system with iPod connectivity, FPV GT instrumentation, badging, gear knob and starter button.
The Falcon GS sedan also gets a choice of six exterior color/stripe combinations and 19 inch Graphite alloy wheels. The Falcon GS ute (coupe utility vehicle) has some extra features like a choice of only three exterior color/stripe combinations, 19 inch Alpine Silver alloy wheels and a FPV (Ford Performance Vehicle) soft tonneau.
An official of the FPV company stated that the GS series will be produced in just 325 units, more precisely 250 Falcon GS sedans and 75 Falcon GS utes. The price for the Falcon GS sedan will be set at 54.950 Australian dollars while the ute version of the Falcon GS will have a price tag of 49.950 Australian dollars.
Rod Barett, FPV General Manager, stated that ``GS is another iconic badge in Ford`s family history in this country``. He continued by saying ``Our aim was to develop a model that provides the performance, prestige and individuality that is a signature of the FPV brand, with its own identifiable model personality, all at a great price``.
