First hybrid Australian safety car is a Lexus

This is the kind of the news at which we do not expect anyone to be overly excited. What we have here is a Lexus GS 450h that will be the first hybrid safety car in Australia. The Lexus 450h safety car will make its debut at this year`s annual edition of the Muscle Car Masters that will take place on the 6th of September at the Eastern Creek Raceway, located in Sydney. After this event, the Lexus GS 450h will take the permanent role of the official safety car at the Eastern Creek Raceway.

The Japanese automaker Lexus claims that the safety car version of the GS 450h has no significant modifications in comparison to the street model except the special livery and safety car lights.

John Roca, Lexus Australia Chief Executive, stated that ``Our partnership with Eastern Creek is a great way to showcase Lexus` hybrid range of vehicles and demonstrate its compromise free mix of economy and power``.

Now we can see what a big dimension the eco car trend has taken. Because it is trendy to be eco, safety cars on race circuits have started to be replaced by hybrid versions. This ecological trend is taking over our lives, modifying it in every way it can. No more plasma TVs, no more normal light bulbs, stricter regulations regarding carbon dioxide emissions of cars and so on. Unfortunately, people are too blind to see that this wave is taking over our lives, step by step. The fact that the safety car on an Australian raceway will be a hybrid car is just a small step ahead.
