New Toyota Land Cruiser coming to Frankfurt

The Japanese automaker Toyota has confirmed that they will unveil the severely redesigned Land Cruiser SUV this month in Germany, during the Frankfurt Auto Show. This means that the Toyota stand at the Frankfurt Auto Show will present the Prius Plug-in Hybrid concept, the redesigned Land Cruiser and the pre-production Auris Hybrid. Until now, the Japanese automaker has been very discrete regarding the redesigned Land Cruiser Prado, even though at the beginning of the last month a JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) brochure leaked on the web. In this brochure we could see the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado that has a modified exterior and interior design.

The redesigned Toyota Land Cruiser Prado will hit the European market towards the end of this year. Also, the redesigned SUV will probably lead the entrance for the North American market of the Lexus GS sometime in 2010.

The 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, from what we could see in the leaked brochure that leaked on the internet last month, is a step forward done by the Japanese automaker. Obviously, the changes are not dramatic or mind blowing. Still, the overall styling level of the 2010 Toyota Land Cruiser Prado is superior to the one of the previous models. I think it is fair to say that the new Land Cruiser has a more elegant look, a more sophisticate design or even a more modern appearance if you want. The Toyota Land Cruiser is a historical model for the Japanese automaker, having a long, successful ``career`` in the SUV segment. Along with the Corolla, the Land Cruiser is maybe the emblematic model of the Japanese automaker Toyota. We will have to see how well the redesigned Land Cruiser will be received by the public and how it will perform in a market that has been seriously hit by the economical crisis.
