Some of you might remember that the Italian automaker Ferrari threatened to sue a British guy that made a limousine based on the 360 Modena, if he would not remove the Prancing Horse badges from all over his custom limousine. Now, Ferrari has approved Abarth to use their name in a project based on the Fiat 500 called Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari. This Abarth project is intended to go into production as soon as possible.
A spoke person of the Italian automaker Fiat has stated that ``The new Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is distinguished by substantial modifications developed by Abarth and Ferrari engineers``. To be more precise, the special edition Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari based on the Fiat 500 gets its power from a 1.4 liter turbocharged T-Jet 16v engine optimized to develop a total of over 180 HP, which is a huge amount of power for a small car. The four cylinder engine is mated to a Manual Transmission Automated (MTA) electromechanical gearbox that has competition inspired paddle gearshift that drives the front wheels. Thus, Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari will have a front wheel drive.
The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari based on the Fiat 500 will also have 17 inch alloy wheels finished in dark inspired from the Ferrari design. Other important features include a sportier suspension that comes with new shock absorbers and a more powerful braking system that has 285 millimeters multi section discs with four piston calipers made by Brembo.
We can also see a variable dual mode exhaust named ``Record Monza`` that is intended to improve the performances of the engine and at the same time to give a more aggressive sound at over 3000 revs per minute. With this, the performance upgrades are finished.
Moving on towards the styling improvements, we can see that the car is finished in a color named Scuderia Red. We can see also see a number of interesting features, including Xenon headlights with dipped and main beam functions, carbon fiber door mirrors, wheels and rear air intakes finished in Racing Grey and carbon fiber door racing stripes.
Unfortunately we do not get to see any interior photos. Still, we will have to believe what Abarth says. Abarth claims that the interior has some features like a new instrument panel specially made by Jaeger inspired by Ferrari instrumentation, Sabelt bucket sport seats that are lighter by 10 kilograms each in comparison to the old seats, a tricolor hub, the Sabelt seats are finished in black leather with a shell and seat base in carbon fiber as well as a black leather steering wheel with red leather inserts.
