The French automaker Citroen has decided to reveal the 2010 version of its C-Crosser SUV. A lot of people know that the Citroen C-Crosser is practically based on the same platform as the Mitsubishi Outlander, the differences being very subtle. The same thing can be said about the Peugeot 4007 that is based on the Mitsubishi Outlander , having only a couple of minor styling details modified in comparison to the Outlander. The public debut of the 2010 Citroen C-Crosser will take place next week in Germany, during the 2009 edition of the Frankfurt Auto Show.
The most important new features of the 2010 Citroen C-Crosser include a re-homologated diesel engine that delivers a lower level of carbon dioxide emissions and a lower fuel consumption, a semi automatic DCS dual clutch transmission and enhanced interior trim design. The new six speed DSC dual clutch transmission will be available with the 2.2 liter HDi turbo diesel engine that was created by the French automaker Citroen.
Thanks to this powertrain, the 2010 Citroen C-Crosser will manage to reach a maximum speed of 198 km/h while having a level of 192 grams per kilometer of carbon dioxide emissions and a fuel consumption of 7.3 liters per 100 kilometers while being able to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 11.1 seconds (manual in 9.9 seconds).
The French automaker claims that the 2.2 HDi engine that has an output of 156 horsepower mated to a manual transmission has been re-homologated and now manages a level of carbon dioxide emissions of 185 grams per kilometer while the fuel economy has been improved to 40 mpg UK. This is not bad considering it has to make a big SUV move. It is obvious that the terms ``ecological`` and ``sport utility vehicle`` are completely opposed.
An improved finish on the door panels, an updated dashboard design with new chrome inserts around the dials and vents are the interior improvements done to the 2010 Citroen C-Crosser in comparison to the 2009 model.
