Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer concept coming to Frankfurt

The Spanish automaker Seat will be bringing in Germany at the 2009 edition of the Frankfurt Auto Show the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer (ST) concept. Now, they have released a sketch showing the basic design lines of their new concept. The Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer is expected to hit the market in the second quarter of 2010 after having its public debut either in May 2010 at the Barcelona Auto Show either in March 2010 at the Geneva Auto Show. From what it seems the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer (ST) will get its power from a couple of engines that are currently not offered for the five door hatchback or three door version of the Ibiza. Thus, we are expecting to see a couple of new units available for the engine range of the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer. The factory located in Martorell, Spain will be responsible for the production of the third member of the Seat Ibiza family.

The Spanish subsidiary of Volkswagen, Seat, is trying to conquer the heart of the car fans with this Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer. I think that the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer will have a design that will be somewhat (or mostly) inspired from the current Seat Leon. We all know that the Seat Leon is highly appreciated and is probably the best selling car of the Spanish automaker. From what we see in the sketch, we can imagine that they have chosen to stick to a winning design. The only problem might be that you can not have four or five models having the same design patterns. We will just have to see the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer in some official pictures until we can be certain if the Seat Ibiza Sport Tourer will be a look alike of the Seat Leon or not.
