What at first seemed to be just another interesting project seems to turn out to be a certitude meant to be one of the most important creations lately. I am talking about the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari that is based on the Fiat 500. The Italian automaker approved that the tuning company Abarth to use their name for this interesting project although they are famous after some time ago they threatened to intend a lawsuit against a British guy that created a custom Ferrari 360 limousine if he would not remove all the badges that represent the Ferrari image.
The Italian automaker Fiat actually stated that ``The Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is distinguished by substantial modifications developed by Abarth and Ferrari engineers``. The center of attention is most likely a 1.4 liter T-Jet 16 valves engine that is set to have an output of over 180 HP. The powertrain of the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari is completed by a MTA (Manual Transmission Automated) electromechanical gearbox with race inspired paddle gearshift that is mated with the engine and that drives the front wheels. Thus, the Abarth 695 Tributo Ferrari will have a front wheel drive system.
Other important features include a seriously improved braking system that has a sportier suspension set up with new shock absorbers along with 284 millimeters multi section Brembo dics with four piston calipers. The Fiat 500 based car also gets performance tires along with 17 inch alloy wheels finished in dark with a design inspired from the Italian automaker Ferrari.
The performance upgrades are completed by a so called ``Record Monza`` variable back pressure dual mode exhaust system which is meant to give a more sonorous note at over 3000 revs per minute while improving the engine performances.
The main exterior styling improvements include Xenon headlights with dipped and main beam functions, a Scuderia Red finish, rear air intakes finished in Racing Grey and carbon fiber door mirrors and racing stripes.
Moving on towards the inside of the hot hatchback, we can see interesting features including a new instrument panel specially made by Jaeger that is inspired by Ferrari instrumentation, Sabelt bucket sport seats that are lighter by 10 kilograms each in comparison to the standard Fiat 500 seats, a black leather steering wheel with red leather inserts along with a triple colored hub and the seats that are finished in black leather with a shell and a seat base in carbon fiber.
