The RACQ (Royal Automotive Club of Queensland) selected as utility cars the Mitsubishi Triton, to be used for helping stranded motorists. There will be 90 kitted-out fully Tritons, equipped to all the specifications of RACQ.

The Tritons has common rail 2.5l diesel engines, 134 horsepower - 3,800 rpm, 314 Nm torque - 2,000 rpm; fully load equipped with safety modes, including the Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution (RISE) body system hahing front crumple zones, intrusion side bars, dual driver SRS front airbags, seatbelt pre-tensioners and ABS braking.
Iaen Paul, head of Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited - fleet sales said 'No vehicle is better suited to the role of roadside assistance than the durable and hardy Triton utility. With power, efficiency and style, the Triton can tackle any situation, on and off the road'.
Mitsubishi has 2.5l engine variants used by RACQ, it offers in Australia also 4 other engines: 2.4l petrol plus 3.5l V6 petrol that's for 4X2 Triton plus 3.5l petrol V6 and 3.2l CDI diesel apt for 4x4, pick-up, dual cab, cab chassis body versions.
