The Japanese automaker Mitsubishi has decided to add another model to their range of cars available for the Chinese market. In a period when all the attention is drawn by the German event called the 2009 Frankfurt Auto Show, the Japanese automaker decided to launch the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander for the Chinese market. Obviously, the launch was pretty quiet; Mitsubishi chose not to make a big fuss out of it. The restyled Mitsubishi Outlander has a more aggressive fascia that translates more precisely into a jet fighter style grille inspired clearly from the Mitsubishi Lancer. Actually, the aggressive grille is inspired from the New York debuted Mitsubishi Outlander GT prototype.
The most important new features of the Chinese market 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander, except the heavily modified fascia, include a reshaped hood, a restyled front bumper, reshaped fenders and restyled side mirrors.
We do not have any information whether the Japanese automaker will be presenting the European market 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander during the Frankfurt Auto Show, but it is quite certain that there will be no essential differences between the Chinese market model and the European market model.
I honestly do not like the way the new Mitsubishi Outlander. The grille is extremely weird for my taste; it reminds me of the Audi grille. I do not know what is happening to the Japanese automaker. This new grille makes the car look a lot worse than the 2009 model. When things like these happen, I start to appreciate certain automakers that make no modifications from year to year to their models. In fact, Mitsubishi would have done a lot better if they have left the 2010 Mitsubishi Outlander unchanged in comparison to the 2009 model. It is better to do nothing and leave the car as it was than to do something that makes it look worse.
