The French automaker Citroen has publicly revealed during the 2009 edition of the Frankfurt Auto Show their latest creation called REVOLTe. The Citroen REVOLTe is a concept mini that wants to be a modern rebirth of the historical 2CV model. Officials of Citroen actually stated that the Citroen REVOLTe is ``luxurious and colorful, intelligent and technologically advanced, and lively and spirited`` while the Citroen 2CV was ``plain and neutral, basic and simple, and slow and bouncy``. Well, the Citroen REVOLTe is quite an aggressive rebirth of the iconic Citroen 2CV , being almost a hot rod. Still, the Citroen REVOLTe is that kind of car that you either love or hate, there is no middle way or compromise, so do not be surprised if a lot of people will hate the way it looks.
The Citroen REVOLTe is shorter than the Citroen C2 supermini with a lower height and a wider footprint thus offering a sportier stance. To be more precise, the Citroen REVOLTe has a height of 1350 millimeters, a length of 3680 millimeters and a width of 1730 millimeters. The Citroen REVOLTe also has the logo of the premium DS range of models on it.
People can enter inside the Citroen REVOLTe through a pair of conventional doors at the front and a pair of rear hinged suicide doors at the back. As you all know, the interior of the Citroen REVOLTe is extremely futuristic. It is also important to mention that the even though the futuristic interior is not by far related to the interior of the iconic Citroen 2CV , the exterior design has some common styling cues with the legendary Citroen mini.
The futuristic interior has a seat for the driver on one side; a removable child seat facing the rear in the front passenger space and two passenger seats behind designed to resemble a lounge. Thus, we can say that the Citroen REVOLTe has a three plus one seat layout, which is quite uncommon for modern cars.
It is clear that the French automaker Citroen has created this concept in order to get some feedback from both the press and common people that are interested in the world of automobiles. Depending on whether the feedback will be positive or negative, Citroen might decide to launch a production version based on the Citroen REVOLTe, but clearly a car that would be more down to earth and not so futuristic as the car that you can see in the pictures below.
