New Frankfurt gallery of Audi R8 Spyder

As you can all remember, the first images of the all new Audi R8 Spyder were not all that pretty. And I am not being subjective here. Everyone who saw the first pictures of the Audi R8 Spyder said the same thing. The cocoa bean color used on the Audi R8 Spyder that was seen in the first official images made everyone wonder what the marketing team of Audi was doing when they decided to come out with those pictures. In order to correct their error, the German automaker came to the Frankfurt Auto Show with two Audi R8 Spyder models. This time, we got to see a white Audi R8 Spyder and a red Audi R8 Spyder. It does not matter whether you like the car or not, it is obvious that the white and especially the red colors are much better fitted colors for the Audi R8 than that horrible cocoa beans brown color. Still, I think that the Audi R8 Spyder would look a lot better in a metallic black color.

As you most probably already know, the Audi R8 Spyder will be available exclusively with a 5.2 liter V10 engine that has an output of 525 horsepower. Also, the cloth top roof can be opened or closed at a touch of a button in 19 seconds. The total weight of the Audi R8 Spyder is of 1720 kilograms. In comparison, the Audi R8 Coupe is just 25 kilograms lighter. The 5.2 liter V10 engine will be coupled as standard to a xi speed manual gearbox or optionally to a six speed automatic transmission. It is also important to mention that the Audi R8 Spyder comes with an all wheel drive system.

The Audi R8 Spyder will be available for a base price tag of 156.400 euros starting from the fourth quarter of the next year.
