The Jay Leno Show's star will attend, on October 10, the collector vehicle auction Barrett-Jackson, where his motorcycle Yamaha Star VMAX custom build will be under the lights; the proceeds goes to Bailey's Cafe, an art education community program to some of the toughest neighborhoods in New York.
Jay says 'Bailey's Café is an arts program, but since I didn't have any Yamaha musical instruments to auction off, I thought I'd sell my Star VMAX, which was made by Yamaha'.
Leno customized his bike especially for this action, sending it to Jeff Palhegyi, the designer. 'Jay's only instructions were, 'This bike's going to be bought by an enthusiast, so make sure to keep it rideable.' I know he's into bold, powerful bikes and cars, so I'll be emphasizing those aspects of the VMAX' Palhegyi said.
Steve Davis - Barrett-Jackson's president said 'Our company is waiving the buyer's and seller's fee on this wonderful opportunity to own a fantastic custom bike, because we agree with one of the world's greatest car guys, that it's important to support worthy causes'.
The event it's in Las Vegas at the Mandalay Bay Hotel and Casino.
Stefanie Siegel - Bailey's Café says, 'Jay and I have been friends since we were 18 years old. I'm thrilled that the sale of his motorcycle will help us achieve our goal of raising $100,000, which will allow us to find a permanent home for our community arts programs'.
Star VMAX is a built-to-order/limited-production motorcycle. Clients who want to buy a VMAX 2010 have until 30th of November this year to place their orders, having deliveries start in November. Subscribe to Car news by Email |
