US spec Volkswagen Golf pricing announced

The German automaker Volkswagen decided it was time to publicly release the pricing levels of their 2010 models for the North American market. Here we will be talking about the pricing levels of the 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI. The 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI will get its power from a choice of two engines only. More precisely, potential buyers can choose either a 2.0 liter TDI engine that has an output of 140 horsepower or a 2.5 liter five cylinder petrol engine that has an output of 170 horsepower. It is also important to mention that the 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI come in two versions, one with two doors and one with four doors.

Potential buyers will have to pay 18.190 dollars for the 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI with two doors and the 2.5 liter petrol engine with a five speed manual gearbox and up to 22.690 dollars for the 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI with two doors, a six speed manual gearbox and the 2.0 liter TDI engine that has an output of 140 horsepower.

When equipped with the optional six speed automatic transmission, the 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI with the 2.5 liter petrol engine manages to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph in 8.1 seconds while returning average figures of 30 mpg highway and 23 mpg city.

When equipped with the 2.0 liter TDI engine, it is obvious that the Volkswagen Golf VI has a better fuel economy. Thus, in the case when the 2.0 liter TDI engine is mated to a optional six speed dual clutch DSG transmission the Volkswagen Golf VI manages to go from standstill to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds while returning average figures of 42 mpg highway and 30 mpg city. The performance of the standard six speed manual transmission is quite close to the DSG one. More precisely, when equipped with the six speed manual transmission that comes as standard, the 2010 Volkswagen Golf VI manages to go from 0 to 60 mph in 8.6 seconds while returning average figures of 41 mpg highway and 30 mpg city. It is also important to mention that the 2.0 liter TDI engine has an output of 140 horsepower available at 4000 revs per minute and 320 Nm of torque available from 1750 revs per minute to 2500 revs per minute.
