Spy photos of 2010 Opel Meriva surface

What we have here is a photo gallery showing spy pictures of the 2010 Opel Meriva. After previously seeing a number of photos of the 2010 Opel Meriva with heavy camouflage on it, this time the people who caught the spy photos of the next generation Opel Meriva were lucky enough to catch the MPV (Multi Purpose Vehicle) without any camouflage. From the spy photos below we can see that the next generation Opel Meriva borrows a lot of styling patterns and cues from the new Opel Astra hatchback and the successful Opel Meriva while being clearly developed starting from the concept presented in 2008.

Some of the distinguishable features of the next generation Opel Meriva include the awkward glasshouse design that houses a downward kink at the back doors behind the B-Pillar and suicide rear doors with front mounted handles that are said to open at a 90 degree angle to the body.

Unfortunately in this new series of spy photos we do not get to see the front of the 2010 Opel Meriva . Still, from the older photos we know that the next generation Opel Meriva will have the tradition Opel grille and wing shaped headlights, just like the new Opel Astra.

The 2010 Opel Meriva will have quite a large range of engines. Diesel lovers will be able to choose from a 1.3 liter CDTI engine, a 1.7 liter CDTI engine or a 2.0 liter CDTI engine. Gasoline fanatics will have a choice of a new General Motors 1.4 liter turbo engine that has an output of 140 horsepower or a couple of naturally aspired engine with capacities of between 1.4 liters and 1.6 liters and outputs of between 100 horsepower and 115 horsepower.

The next generation Opel Meriva will make its public debut during the 2010 edition of the Geneva Auto Show. The European market sales will begin at a short time after the passing of the Geneva Auto Show. The 2010 Opel Meriva will have serious competition, including the Kia Venga or the Citroen C3 Picasso.
