The Japanese automaker Honda decided to launch a video and the first set of photos that show the interior of their latest creation called Accord CrossTour. It seems that the interior design of the Honda Accord CrossTour will be the same as the interior design of the Honda Accord sedan, so no complaints will be made there. If you do not remember, the exterior design of the Honda Accord CrossTour was seriously mocked and contested by a lot of people. If you wonder why, you will find the answer in the photos below. The Honda Accord CrossTour will hit the North American market in November this year.
The Honda Accord CrossTour has an eight inch deep under floor HRUB (Hidden Removable Utility Box) with a reversible lid in the compartment area, but it is not certain whether the Honda Accord Crosstour is more practical or roomy in comparison to the Honda Accord sedan .
Erik Berkman, vice president of corporate planning and logistics for American Honda Motor Co. has stated that ``Honda has a longstanding reputation for maximizing interior space and utility in its vehicles``. He continued by saying that ``Like the award-winning Honda Fit, the Accord CrossTour uses a versatile design to create an interior that functions with the practicality of a larger vehicle``.
The Honda Accord CrossTour will get its power from a 3.5 liter V6 engine mated to a four wheel drive system. This engine is also used on the Honda Accord sedan. The Japanese automaker did not release any specific number regarding the performances of the engine, but in the Honda Accord sedan the V6 engine manages to have an output of 254 lb-ft of torque available from 5000 revs per minute and 271 horsepower available from 6200 revs per minute. The Japanese automaker officially confirmed that the Honda Accord CrossTour will start arriving in the dealerships in November 2009.
Just for a final laugh, we could not help to notice this quote from the press release, saying that ``The exterior styling evolves the Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) concept by integrating a sleek and aerodynamic shape that blends sporty, low-profile contours with versatile CUV functionality.`` Well, you can not blame the people working at the Marketing department, they are just doing their job, but the quote above can surely compete for the joke of the year award.
