Infiniti is recalling 2008-2010 units

Nissan recalls in total 143,223 units in the US after discovering a tire pressure malfunction at the monitoring system could raise the crash risk. This recall will be affecting Infiniti M35 2008-2010, M45 2008-2010, Cube 2009, Murano 2009 and Rogue 2008, according to the official info published on the NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) site.

Here's what's mentioned on NHTSA site notification posted: 'Nissan is recalling certain model year 2008-2010 vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Massachusetts, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Washington D.C., West Virginia and Wisconsin'.

'The material in the nut used to secure the sensor-transmitted of the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TMPS) may corrode and potentially crack in areas with heavy concentrations of road salt. If this occurs, the nut may come out of the sensor-transmitter and the TMPS lamp will illuminate'.

If it happens, it would raise the crash risk. Here we bring you the official consequence, like said in the advisory of NHTSA: 'If the TMPS lamp is disregarded and the vehicle continues to be driven in this condition, the tire will quickly lose air pressure a consistent rate resulting in a flat tire increasing the risk of a crash'.

Infiniti expects the recalls will start on or before 9th of November, this year. Free of charge of course, having dealers replacing the TMPS nut, putting in a new one, more robust.
