Spy photos of Audi RS5 surface

What we have here is a set of spy images showing the eagerly awaited Audi RS5 Coupe. The Audi RS5 Coupe is based on the Audi S5. If we look at the images below and compare it to an Audi S5, the Audi RS5 prototype has single outlet tailpipes which replace the two smaller outlets on each side of the rear bumper that can be seen on the Audi S5, a new front bumper with larger and more pronounced side air inlets and a honeycomb grille. At a closer look we get to see that the black panels located at the front and back of the prototype point out that the Audi RS5 will have a wider body with flared arches that makes the Audi S5 to have some similar design touches as the current Audi RS 6 and RS6 Avant as well as the original Audi Quattro coupe. It is also possible that the Audi RS5 to have a deployable rear spoiler located at the tip of the boot. The Audi RS5 will make its world debut at the 2010 edition of the Geneva Auto Show that will take place next March.

If the Audi RS5 wants to compete with other cars like the BMW M3 Coupe, then it must have a powerful engine. Rumors claim that the Audi RS5 will get its power from a V8 4.2 liter naturally aspirated engine that will be able of developing about 450 horsepower. Practically, this engine would be a tweaked version of the engine available on the Audi RS4. Still, until now no official statement was released that would confirm this information, so take it as a rumor for now.

The same rumors claim that the powertrain of the Audi RS5 will also have the Quattro all wheel drive which is specific for Audi and a choice of either a seven speed S tronic twin clutch semi automatic transmission or a six speed manual gearbox.
