The Asian car market is unique. Practically, it seems that Asia is somewhere on another planet when compared to the other car markets of the world. The rest of the world that lives in Europe or North America periodically finds out new stuff about the Asian auto market that leaves us speechless. A good example happened a couple of months ago when we found out that the Samsung company is an automaker too, producing a car named Samsung SM3. We found this out when Renault announced that eastern European market model Renault Fluence will use the platform of the Samsung SM3. Now we find out that some Japanese company named Suzusho Ltd will launch a model named Supasse-V during the 2009 edition of the Tokyo Auto Show that will begin in just a couple of days. From what it seems, the Suzusho Supasse-V is a small coupe with a middle mounted engine that will hit the Japanese market next year. Now you can imagine our surprise when hearing about an automaker named Suzusho. After doing some research, we found out that Suzusho is a small company that currently builds a model named Suppase-C for the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market). The Suzusho Supasse-C is a Lotus 7 replica.
Returning to the Suzusho Supasse-V that will be launched at the Tokyo Auto Show, we have to tell you that it is extremely light. Thanks to the use of lightweight materials like aluminum and fiberglass, the Suzusho Supasse-V has a weight of only 1874 lbs or 850 kilograms.
When it comes to performance, the Suzusho Supasse-V has a power to weight ratio of 3.1 kilograms per horsepower or 6.9 lbs per horsepower. This kind of performance is possible thanks to a mid mounted 2.3 liter four cylinder turbocharged engine that has an output of 270 horsepower. The engine is also used on the Mazda 3 MPS .
