Technical details and pricing for 2010 Suzuki Kizashi revealed

There is not much time left until we will get to see the Suzuki Kizashi flagship sedan launched. Instead of wanting to compete with other mainstream offerings like the Honda Accord or the Toyota Camry, the Suzuki Kizashi wants to capture the attention of those potential buyers that would like to own a driver oriented and sportier looking mid size sedan like the BMW 3-Series, the Acura TSX or the Volkswagen Passat CC but can not afford one. Thus, we will get to see the Suzuki Kizashi starting from a base price of under 20.000 dollars on the North American market starting from December this year.

The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi sedan will get its power from a 2.4 liter four cylinder engine that is capable of developing 185 horsepower at 6500 revs per minute and 170 lb-ft of torque at 4000 revs per minute when coupled to the six speed manual transmission. When mated to a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) the same engine is capable of developing three extra horsepower. The Suzuki Kizashi is able to accelerate from 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 7.5 seconds. The powertrain is completed by a front wheel drive system. Still, potential buyers can also choose an all wheel drive system instead of the standard front wheel drive system. The 2010 Suzuki Kizashi will be built at the Sagara manufacturing facility located in Japan and owned by Suzuki.

Depending on the chosen transmission and drive configuration, the Suzuki Kizashi returns a fuel economy of 31 mpg on the highway and 23 mpg in the city. The Suzuki Kizashi will be offered in four versions that have base prices between 20.000 dollars and 24.000 dollars. More precisely, the four versions will be Suzuki Kizashi S (the cheapest), Suzuki Kizashi SE, Suzuki Kizashi GTS and Suzuki Kizashi SLS (the most expensive).

The Suzuki Kizashi S will come with important standard equipment, including integrated chromed dual exhaust tips, standard push button start, eight airbags, sport front seats, stability control, steering wheel audio controls and automatic dual zone climate control with passenger rear vents.

The Suzuki Kizashi SE will come with extra features, like leather wrapped parking brake lever, a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), a leather wrapped shift lever, 215/55 17 inch tires mounted on alloy wheels, leather wrapped steering wheel, a 10 way power driver seat with three position memory and cruise control.

The Suzuki Kizashi GTS will come with integrated Bluetooth hands free calling and audio streaming, a six speed manual gearbox or a CVT with paddle shifters, a 425 watt Rockford Fosgate audio system, 235/45 18 inch tires on alloy wheels, fog lights and one touch moon roof.

The top of the range Suzuki Kizashi SLS comes with rear parking sensors, leather appointments to the interior, windshield wiper rain sensor, three stage heated front seats, ``Home Link`` universal garage door opener and a four way power passenger seat.
