Few people know that Toyota has a model named Mark-X that is sold on the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) and a couple of other Asian markets. The 2010 Toyota Mark-X has been redesigned, getting an updated interior with a revised instrument panel and center console as well as newly styled front and rear ends to complete the refreshed exterior. Even if the 41st edition of the Tokyo Auto Show is set to open its gates in just a couple of days, the Japanese automaker has decided to reveal the 2010 Toyota Mark-X. For those of you who do not know, the Toyota Mark-X is a mid size sports sedan that has the same rear wheel drive platform with the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) versions of the Lexus GS and the Toyota Crown.
The distance between the front seats has been increased by 20 millimeters, thus resulting in a roomier interior. Toyota also claims that shoulder portion of the door trim for the front and rear seats have been pushed outward by 25 millimeters in total for left and right.
The drivetrain of the Toyota Mark-X for the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) is composed of a six speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters on the steering wheel, a choice of either a rear wheel drive system or an all wheel drive system (available only with the 2.5 liter V6 model), a choice of either a 2.5 liter V6 engine capable of developing 203 horsepower and 243 Nm of torque or a 3.5 liter V6 engine capable of developing 318 horsepower and 380 Nm of torque.
Other important features include Hill-start Assist Control, a new Radar Cruise Control system equipped with a brake control function that can maintain a fixed distance with a car in front and an Adaptive Front-lighting System.
In Japan, the top of the range 2010 Toyota Mark-X 350S L-Package has a base price of 3.800.000 Yens or the equivalent of 28.032 euros or 41.908 dollars while the cheapest version will be the 2010 Toyota Mark-X 250G that comes with a base price of 2.380.000 Yens or the equivalent of 17.556 euros or 26.248 dollars.
