4th of November 2009 The place where the upcoming plug-in hybrid auto Karma will be made, is secured. Fisker – the U.S. manufacturer is on the market now setting up its dealership web across the whole world. Fisker said it has selected already its retailer in Europe.
'We are going to announce one of the largest European retailers with over 100 dealerships' Henrik Fisker, the builder's founder affirmed, according to Autonews, in Detroit at the Reuters Autos Summit.
Fisker has a new target, China most definitely, where the PHEV will be welcomed with the open arms. Fisker stated 'We have had some amazing feedback from China. We have several importers who want to sell our vehicles in China'.
Fisker announced, when October ended, a GM contract for the buying of an ex GM factory located in Wilmington, Delaware. This facility will be retooled on the upcoming years, having production starting by 2012 in America.
Fisker CEO announced the acquisition and said 'This is a major step toward establishing America as a leader of advanced vehicle technology. Wilmington is perfect for high quality, low volume production and will soon be the proud builder of world-class, fuel-efficient Fisker plug-in hybrids'.
Fisker will make the Karma, until then, in Finland, with Valmet Automotive's help. Fisker said the 1st batch could hit roads by June next year.
