Half a million new Ford Fiestas sold in first year of production

After we informed you some time ago that the Ford Fiesta is the second best sold car in Europe in the first nine months, after the Volkswagen Golf, now we have positive information again in these hard times when it seems that things are going worse by the day. The new generation of the Ford Fiesta is selling like crazy. The new generation Ford Fiesta was launched back in October 2008 on all the European markets as well as a couple of other markets from the Asia Pacific region, like China, South Africa, New Zealand and Australia. Until September the Ford Fiesta was sold in 40.000 units in the Asia Pacific region and in 430.000 units in Europe. At the one year anniversary of the new Ford Fiesta, the North American automaker is proud of the fact that it was sold in over 500.000 units, as in October 50.000 more Fiestas were sold worldwide, for a grand total of 520.000 cars in one year of existence.

Jim Farley, group vice president of global marketing and Canada, Mexico and South America has stated that ``Customers around the world are recognizing the new Fiesta delivers on the global Ford DNA - - eye catching design, innovation, outstanding driving dynamics and great value``.

The Ford Fiesta will be launched on the North American market too, but not until the summer of 2010 while the first public appearance of the new Ford Fiesta on the North American continent will take place in December this year in Los Angeles.

I think that the fact that the new Ford Fiesta brings a great value for the money is the main reason for which it has been selling like crazy in the first year of existence on the market. A great looking design, good interior for a reasonably priced car.
