6th of November 2009 Even if the SEMA Show is mostly about modified American cars, Subaru could not completely miss out from this event. The American in house performance division of Subaru named Subaru Performance Tuning (SPT for short) will reveal a modified Subaru Impreza WRX STI during the 2009 edition of the SEMA Show that will take place in Las Vegas. The custom built Subaru Impreza WRX STI will get a turbo heat shield, a sportier exhaust system that boosts the output of the 2.5 liter turbocharged boxer engine by 10 horsepower, from 305 horsepower to 315 horsepower at 6000 revs per minute while the 290 lb-ft of torque at 4000 revs per minute remains stock.
The handling has been further improved by Subaru Performance Tuning thanks to an SPT lower chassis brace (to upgrade the suspension), a set of 19 inch Prodrive GT2 alloy wheels finished in Glitter Gold with Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 245/35 R19 performance tires, an SPT strut tower brace for the suspension and STI performance springs also for the suspension.
Moving on towards the interior, we will get to see all weather floor mats, a SPT boost gauge, a STI shift knob, a media hub digital music integration system, HomeLink transmitter and auto dimming mirrors with transflective display.
In terms of styling the custom built Subaru Impreza WRX STI gets SPT exhaust finishers, SPT billet oil cap, a STI front lip spoiler and billet battery hold down.
It would be very interesting to see some performance figures of the custom built Subaru Impreza WRX STI as well as a large photo gallery.
