7th of November 2009 Lingenfelter Performance Engineering (LPE or just simply Lingenfelter) will be bringing at the 2009 SEMA Show two projects, one of which is a modern day version of the legendary Pontiac Trans Am. A lot of tuning companies will be bringing their view on how a modern day Pontiac Trans Am should look like, and Lingenfelter will be one of the most important of them. The Lingenfelter 455 Trans Am Concept is based on the 2010 Chevrolet Camaro . For the time being the car presented at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas will be just a concept. Still, if there is enough interest generated by this concept car, Lingenfelter is considering producing the car. What we have here are the first real life photos of the Lingenfelter 455 Pontiac Trans Am , after seeing a lot of renderings before.
Some of the most important features include a newly styled hood with a shaker scoop and blue keyed stripe, a new fascia and custom headlights, turn signals and grille. The Lingenfelter 455 Pontiac Trans Am also gets a new rear fascia with custom made taillight housings while the rear corners of the car have been extended by nearly four inches with a wrapped down stand up spoiler. The exterior package is completed by 20 inch Honeycomb design alloy wheels with 275/40ZR20 tires at the front and 315/35ZR20 tires at the back made by Nitto Tires and front fender air outlets.
In terms of performance, as the name suggests, the Lingenfelter 455 Trans Am gets aluminum 455 cubic inch which is the equivalent of 7.5 liter V8 engine capable of developing 655 horsepower and 610 ft.-lbs of torque. The 7.5 liter V8 engine has an 11.5:1 compression ratio, is CNC ported and has polished LS7 heads as well as LSX FAST 102 intake finish.
The interior of the Lingenfelter 455 Trans Am gets metal turned instrument panel accents and bright blue woven vinyl seat inserts.
