The 2009 SEMA Show seems to be a very special event not only for tuning companies but for automakers too. Chevrolet, a General Motors subsidiary, will be presenting no less than five custom made 2010 Chevrolet Camaro models during the 2009 SEMA Show that will take place in Las Vegas.
The first car we will be talking about is the Jay Leno Camaro that gets its power from a twin turbocharged direct injection 3.6 liter V6 engine capable of developing 425 horsepower, which represents about 40% more power than the stock 2010 Chevrolet Camaro . Brent Dewar, CEO of Chevrolet has stated that ``Jay`s Camaro offers style, performance and efficiency in a big way``. He continued by saying that ``It delivers the power of a Camaro SS on demand, but with the fuel economy of a V6``. The Jay Leno Camaro was developed to have as a primary mission racing itself, no matter whether it is on the street or on the race track. In terms of style, the Jay Leno Camaro is considered as being the most radical out all Camaros that will be present at the 2009 Sema Show.
The second car is the Camaro Synergy. The Camaro Synergy previews a new Synergy Green production exterior color that will be offered on a special edition Camaro in the first half of the next year. Practically, the Camaro Synergy has as a main purpose to show the personalization possibilities open to Camaro potential buyers.
The third custom Camaro is the Camaro Chroma. The Camaro Chroma wants to show how carefully selected accessories available through Chevrolet dealers can create a unique styling, different to any other Camaro. The Camaro Chroma is finished in Summit White and uses a combination of current and yet to be released components. Todd Parker, design manager of GM Accesory Studio has stated that ``With its silver graphics on the Summit White paint, this car has a tailored, tone on tone appearance that is simultaneously racy and subdued``. He continued by saying that ``It is a sophisticated looking car that is easily duplicated by any customer, because all of the parts are available to build it``. Todd Parker also stated that ``What is great about the Camaro Chroma is it speaks to the almost unlimited possibilities that the accessories offer``. He continued by saying that ``You can build your Camaro mild or wild, but build it you way``.
The fourth car we will be talking about is the Camaro Dusk. The Camaro Dusk has a very aggressive look, with a lowered ride height, new 21 inch wheels, a rear spoiler from the Camaro SS and a custom ground effects package. The Camaro Dusk is inspired by the style of young, urban professionals. Todd Parker, design manager of GM Accessory Studio, has stated that ``This is a car with an international flair, bringing the Camaro to a place it hasn`t traditionally been``. He continued by saying that ``It is a very tailored look that is stylish and sophisticated, but with a distinct American accent``. The Camaro Dusk is finished in Berlin Blue.
The fifth and final car is the Camaro Graphics. The Camaro Graphics is a special project. The Camaro designers created half a dozen proposals for accessory graphics packages, intending to solicit feedback from Camaro enthusiasts for possible production. After this, Chevrolet launched the Graphics campaign in October, asking Camaro fans on Facebook to pick their favorite design. The best four designs were produced and brought to the SEMA Show in Las Vegas, where a Silver Ice Metallic finished Camaro will wear each contender on a different day. After all four contenders are seen both live and on Facebook, a new round of voting will commence. The most voted version of the four will be taken into consideration for production in the future.
