Scion xB pickup concept coming to SEMA Show

Not all tuning projects have to be beautiful ones. The stock Scion xB isn`t exactly the best looking of cars, but this retro flavored pickup conversion of the economy compact hatchback that made its debut at the 2009 SEMA Show in Las Vegas can be considered as being extremely ugly. The Scion xB retro pickup concept takes us back to the classic pickup trucks of the 1950s and was designed by Brandon Leung. Heck, I would have guessed that a monkey designed this, but it seems it isn`t the case.

Some of the most important features (if they can be named that) of the Scion xB retro pickup concept include a heavily tweaked engine, custom made unique machined billet 20 inch alloy wheels with 215/30 ZR20 Toyo tires, TRD sport brakes and suspension parts, a custom Five Axis Design body kit and modified interior.

For those of you who do not know, the Scion xB is a box shaped five door compact station wagon. The compact station wagon is a vehicle made by Toyota for the United States market that is sold under the youth oriented Scion brand. The first generation of the Scion xB was built between 2004 and 2007 while the second and current generation of the Scion xB is on the market since 2008.

You can take a look at the very ugly Scion xB based retro pickup concept in the pictures below.
