BMW 320d gets performance upgrade by Superchips

Usually diesel powered cars do not get the attention of tuning companies. Still, the BMW 320d is one of the most popular models of the German automaker. Thus, a tuning company named Superchips decided to give the BMW 320d a good share of attention. As their name suggests, Superchips does not specialize in styling modifications but technical ones. Thus, the BMW 320d received a serious performance boost thanks to the work done by the guys over at Superchips. More precisely, the stock BMW 320d engine (a 2.0 liter turbo diesel unit) develops 175 horse power but thanks to the remapped ECU the engine reaches a maximum of 220 horsepower and 444 Nm of torque. These figures represent an improvement of 44 horsepower and 103 Nm all thanks to just updated engine software.

Thanks to the additional low rev torque available to the driver, the BMW 320d is not affected in terms of fuel economy by the remapped ECU and even in some cases the fuel economy is improved.

Potential buyers can either purchase the ECU remap and self upload it in a few minutes using the Bluefin handset or just take a visit to the dealership of Superchips to have it installed. The price for the BMW 320d ECU remap is of 435 pounds in the UK including taxes and is covered by a ``full Customer Service Guarantee and warranty`` as Superchips call it.

I think that superchips have hit the spot with this tuning package. For just 435 pounds customers can get 25.7% extra horsepower and 30.2% more torque. It is just a great deal for owners of the BMW 320d and I think that Superchips will be assaulted with demands for ECU remaps.
