VW Group had increased sales in October

Volkswagen Group – the number 1 automaker worldwide gets stronger every day. In October, we see 11.1 % increased sales, delivering 557,300 models in total, an 11.1% raise compared to last year's October when just 501,500 vehicles were sold. VW Group, on the 1st ten months, sold 5.32 million autos, up 0.6 % over January - October last year.

The executive Vice President, Group Sales, Marketing, Detlef Wittig said in Wolfsburg on Friday 'Overall developments are better than expected thanks to our market leadership in Germany, the growth markets of China and Brazil and to our young and environmentally friendly product range'.

Wittig continued 'Strong order books make us quietly optimistic about the coming months. However, global passenger car markets have not made a sustained recovery yet, so we are anticipating a particularly difficult and challenging year in 2010' .

VW got 349,800 passenger vehicles, that a 17 % raise. In China, 1 of the biggest markets, Volkswagen sold 100,300 automobile; in Brazil, the sales were 54,000 cars. The domestic market of Volkswagen got 63,100 models.
