Citroen has revealed the 2010 model year version of the C5. The 2010 Citroen C5 gets some extra equipment upgrades and a revised engine line up in comparison to the current model. The 2010 Citroen C5 will be available in two versions, an Estate version and a sedan version.
The engine lineup gets seriously revised, as the old 2.0 HDi 16V that has an output of 140 horsepower and the 2.2 HDi 16V that has an output of 173 horsepower engines get replaced by a new 2.0 HDi 16V diesel engine that has an output of 160 horsepower. In the same time the 2.0i 16V gasoline engine that has an output of 143 horsepower will get replaced by a 1.6i 16V gasoline engine that has an output of 155 horsepower that was developed in collaboration with the BMW Group.
The new 2.0 liter HDi 16V diesel, in comparison to the outgoing 2.0 HDI 16V engine, has a 4% reduction of carbon dioxide emissions (down from 153 grams per kilometer to 147 grams per kilometer), a 3% increase in fuel economy and a 14% increase in power. The new 2.0 liter HDi 16V diesel unit has an output of 160 horsepower and 340 Nm of torque at 2000 revs per minute.
The new 1.6 liter turbocharged petrol unit that was developed in collaboration with the BMW Group has an output of 155 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque at 1400 revs per minute. In comparison to the older 2.0 liter unit, the new engine has a 16% reduction of carbon dioxide emissions (from 198 grams per kilometer to 167 grams per kilometer), a 18.5% increase in fuel economy and a 8% increase in power.
