Dedicated space for electric vehicles at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show

As people are more and more interested about electric vehicles, the organizers of the important auto events around the year could not remain without a reaction to the growing general interest. Thus, the organizers of the NAIAS (North American International Auto Show), also known as the Detroit Auto Show, have announced today that the next year edition of the auto event will have, for the first time, a 37.000 square foot exhibit area on the main floor of the Detroit Cobo Center exclusively dedicated to electric automobiles.

The name of the 37.000 square foot exhibit area will be `` Electric Avenue`` and it will be able to host about 20 electric vehicles from both entrepreneurs and traditional automakers. The Electric Avenue will also be able to host special events and symposiums.

Doug Fox, NAIAS (North American International Auto Show) Chairman, has stated that `` Electric Avenue is going to be a unique feature of the 2010 NAIAS that will enable us to educate a diverse audience about the long term viability of the auto industry using a subject that is top of mind globally these days``.

The Dow Chemical Company will showcase the importance of technological solutions, including its own advanced battery technology. Also, the Dow Chemical Company will be the sponsor of the Electric Avenue.
