Renault has finally taken the covers of their new Renault Twingo Gordini RS. As we previously told you, even if the Gordini nametag is legendary for representing extremely sporty cars, the revived Gordini lineup of models will only get styling improvements, without any engine or chassis upgrades. The Renault Twingo Gordini RS (Renault Sport) is the first model in the Gordini lineup, which will certainly get more crowded with other modified versions of RenaultSport models.
As the name suggests, the Renault Twingo Gordini RS is based on the Renault Twingo RS 133 and gets its power from a 1.6 liter four cylinder engine capable of developing 133 horsepower. The exterior styling of the Renault Twingo Gordini RS features a lot of modifications, including a set of 17 inch alloy wheels with a polished face and a choice of the inner rim finished in either blue or black, the traditional blue metallic finish with two white racing stripes, a contrasting white finish trim for the fog lamp surrounds, exterior door mirror housings and rear tailgate spoiler as well as gloss black center section bumpers.
Moving on towards the interior, the Renault Twingo Gordini RS gets a lot of improvements, including a leather trimmed dashboard cowl, blue trimmed sport seats, Gordini badged gearlever knob, black leather with blue door panel inserts, a blue gearlever gaiter, leather steering wheel and instrument panel. Other improvements include an upgraded MP3 audio system, automatic climate control, fully disconnectable ESP, automatic headlamp activation, cruise control as well as automatic wiper activation.
Potential buyers will be able to get their hands on the Renault Twingo Gordini RS starting from March 2010 (if they live in Europe) while the public debut of the revived legendary nametag will take place on the 10th of January at the Atelier Renault on Champs Elysses, in Paris.
