The Thailand International Motor Expo that will be open between the 2nd of December and the 13th of December will be the host of the ASEAN market debut of the new Ford Fiesta . The new Ford Fiesta supermini will hit the Thai market in the first months of 2010 in both four door sedan and five door hatchback versions. The entire ASEAN region as well as South Africa, Australia and New Zealand will get the new Ford Fiesta from the AutoAlliance plant, which has cost Ford 500 million dollars and is located in Thailand.
David Alden, president of Ford ASEAN, has stated that ``The ASEAN launch will write the next chapter in our global Ford Fiesta success story and continue to highlight Ford`s leadership in small car design and development``. He continued by saying that ``Stylish Thai and other ASEAN consumers will appreciate the uniqueness and undeniable appeal of the Fiesta to express their individuality, style and sophistication``.
As we told you some time ago, the new Ford Fiesta has been sold in more than half a million units since it was launched one year ago.
And now to clarify the whole ASEAN thing. For those of you who do not know (And I am sure that there are a lot of you out there), ASEAN is an abbreviation for Association of Southeast Asian Nations. ASEAN actually is an economic and geo-political organization of 10 countries located in Southeast Asia, including Thailand, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Vietnam, Brunei, Laos, Burma (also known as Myanmar) and Cambodia.
