386HP Golf GTI by Wimmer RS

Even if it not extremely popular like a lot of other tuning companies, the German tuning company Wimmer RS has done some great projects for cars like the Ferrari F430 Spider or the Porsche GT2 Speed. Their latest project is for the Volkswagen Golf GTI . Just like with their previous projects, Wimmer RS concentrated on the performance of the car and neglected almost completely the styling part. After Wimmer RS got their hands on the Volkswagen Golf GTI and its 2.0 liter turbo unit, they tweaked the engine so that it ended up developing 386 horsepower and 455 Nm of torque. Thanks to the heavily tweaked 2.0 liter engine, the modified Volkswagen Golf GTI is able to reach a maximum speed of 267 km/h. In comparison, the stock 2.0 liter engine found under the hood of the Volkswagen Golf GTI has an output of 210 horsepower and 280 Nm of torque. Thus, the numbers show us that Wimmer RS made the 2.0 liter engine pump out an impressive 176 extra horsepower and 175 extra Nm of torque. Or, if you like percentages, they raised the output of the engine by 83.80% extra horsepower and 62.5% extra Nm of torque.

All this extra power is available thanks to a reprogrammed ECU, an optimized turbo, modified fuel pumps, a sports CAT and modified intake system. Wimmer RS also offers a choice of 18, 19 or 20 inch alloy wheels with high performance tires and a sports clutch along with a height adjustable HR sports coilover suspension system to complete the package.

Unfortunately, Wimmer RS did not offer any details regarding pricing or availability.
