The 2009 Essen Motor Show in pictures

The 2009 edition of the Essen Motor Show took place in the city of Essen in Germany during the 28th of November and the 6th of December. The Essen Motor Show is practically the European version of the North American SEMA (Specialty Equipment Market Association) Show. Practically, it is supposed to be the most important European tuning event of the year and one of the most important worldwide tuning events of the year. Unfortunately, just like in every other branches of the auto business, the tuning niche got seriously hit by the economic crisis. The economic crisis is practically the main reason for which the 2009 Essen Motor Show did not have near as many debuts as the shows that took place in the previous years in Essen.

At the 2009 Essen Motor Show we did not get to see tuning projects based exclusively on cars. We also got to see a number of tuning projects based on motorbikes. Also, money was not a factor, as we got to see tuning projects based on both cheap cars like the Fiat 500 or the Smart ForTwo and Expensive cars, like the Audi R8 or the Porsche Panamera . We also got to see a police BMW project done by Hankook as well as something that seemed to be a Formula 1 or Indycar racing vehicle. Also, age was not a factor, as we got to see some very nice retro looking projects as well as modern and exotic modified cars.

You can take a look at a large photo gallery showing some of the most interesting tuning projects present during the 2009 edition of the Essen Motor Show.
