The 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show is the last important auto event of this year. The vast majority of automakers are crowding up to present their latest models, before the end of the year. Toyota has done exactly this. Thus, the Japanese automaker has presented the 2011 Toyota Sienna at the Los Angeles Auto Show. We are talking about the third generation of the Toyota minivan that seems to be a little more aggressive in terms of design in comparison to the second generation of the Toyota Sienna.
The third generation Toyota Sienna will get its power from a choice of two petrol engines, including a 2.7 liter four cylinder petrol unit that has an output of 187 horsepower that returns an average fuel economy of 19 mpg on the highway and 19 mpg in the city. An average fuel economy of 24 mpg on the highway and 18 mpg in the city is offered by the second engine option, which is a 3.5 liter V6 unit capable of developing 266 horsepower. Whichever engine of the two you will pick, it will be mated to a six speed automatic transmission. In case that you will choose the V6 engine, you will also get an all wheel drive system.
Moving on towards the interior, we can tell you that it was redesigned from the ground up and now features a more modern styling. Toyota claims that the interior is more than two inches longer, and that the seats now have longer ranges of travel, thus increasing passenger space and making it possible to accommodate a wider range of heights and sizes. The third generation Toyota Sienna also gets wider doors making it easier to enter or exit the vehicle. The 2011 Toyota Sienna can accommodate seven or eight passengers having a configurable interior.
The third generation Toyota Sienna comes in five trim levels: base, LE, XLE, Limited and the new SE. The Toyota Sienna SE gets some interesting features, including a sportier tuned suspension, more aggressive looks with different side skirts, unique interior colors and trim, 19 inch alloy wheels, exclusive instrumentation as well as smoked lights.
In the month of February of the next year the third generation Toyota Sienna will start to hit the North American market.
