Subaru has announced today the pricing and other official details for the 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition. The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI made its world debut at the 2009 edition of the Los Angeles Auto Show. Thus, the price of the 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition will be of 33.690 dollars, which is 2000 dollars less than the basic Subaru Impreza WRX STI.

As we previously told you, the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition will be sold at first in a limited edition run of 125 units that will be painted in an exclusive Aspen White, available from the spring of the next year. After all of the 125 units of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition will be sold, the car will enter the regular lineup and will be offered in other colors, including Dark Gray Metallic, Obsidian Black Pearl and WR Blue Mica to name just a few.

The enthusiasts who do not mind trading a few amenities to gain an extra measure of handling performance over the standard Subaru Impreza WRX STI are the segment targeted by the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition.

The 2010 Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition gets some styling features, including 18 inch fourteen spoke alloy wheels that are charcoal colored.

To be more precise, the amenities traded by the Subaru Impreza WRX STI Special Edition over the standard Subaru Impreza WRX STI include side mirrors without integrated signals, halogen instead of HID headlights, manual air conditioning instead of automatic climate control, a single disc CD player / 4 speaker audio system instead of a six disc CD Player / 10 speaker audio system to name a few.

The technical details include stiffer rear sub frame bushings plus upgraded springs, a sportier suspension from the JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) Subaru Impreza WRX STI spec C model, which adds a one millimeter thicker rear stabilizer bar. Thanks to these modifications, the rear springs have been stiffened by 29% while the front springs have been stiffened by 16%.
