Honda sales in America - up with 15.6 percent in 2009 December

The Honda division in North America reported yesterday the monthly sales of December - 107,143, a 15.6 % raise on a daily rate of selling. U.S. Honda's 2009 yearly car sales: 1,150,784 models, meaning 19.5 % decline compared to last year results.

John Mendel, American Honda's executive vice president said 'The good news is that the market appears to be stabilizing and we have more reasons for optimism in 2010. There seems to be light at the end of the tunnel; let's hope it's not another train coming, but rather, brighter days ahead'.

Honda Division' sold 96,568 cars in December, which is a 18.9 % increase compared to the previous year. The 2009 yearly sales of Honda Division were 1,045,061 - meaning 18.6 % decline compared to the past year.

Honda's 3 best selling units in 2009 were Accord - 290,056 cars, Civic - 259,722 models and CRV having 191,214 vehicles.

The monthly sales of Accord increased in December with 17.3 % to 28,238. Civic sales - 19.8 % to 22,319. CRV, the best selling SUV of the firm in 2008-2009, had 24.5 % increase in sales - 18,686 – making a new sales record for December.

Extra unit having monthly sales raise: Pilot, up with 26.6 % to 9,184, Odyssey, up 19.8 % to 8,966.

The year end Acura Division sales presented 105,723 models, down with 26.8 %, meanwhile Acura sales in December reached 10,575 models, down with 8.1 %.
