New photos of production ready 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe

One of the most highly anticipated cars in the last couple of months is the 2011 Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe. Obviously, there is a lot of rumor appearing practically every day on the web regarding the future hybrid coupe of the Japanese automaker. Well, the latest information about the Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe consists of a series of photos showing the future model of the Japanese automaker in what seems to be an unreleased video of some sort. The photos suggest that they are screenshots from a video because we get to see the car on the roads, with its wheels in motion. Obviously, because we are talking about photos and not the real video, we can not make a better idea about the car. Anyway, a couple of new interior and exterior shots are always welcome.

The new Honda CR-Z hybrid couple will hit the Japanese market in February this year while the North American and European market will get the car later in 2010. Fortunately, a leaked brochure about the Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe was leaked online about a week ago. From that brochure, we got to learn that the Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe will get its power from a petrol engine that has an output of 113 horsepower at 6000 revs per minute and a peak torque of 145 Nm at 4800 revs per minute. The petrol unit will be accompanied by an electric engine that has an output of 78 Nm of torque at 1000 revs per minute and 13 horsepower. The powertrain of the Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe will be completed by a CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) as standard or a six speed manual transmission that will be available optionally.

Thanks to the powerful enough engine, the Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe will be able to go from 0 to 100 km/h in 9.7 seconds. This is a decent performance for an environmental friendly car. Speaking of environmental friendly, it seems that the Honda CR-Z hybrid coupe will return figures of 25.0 kilometers/liter, which is the equivalent of 58.8 mpg US or 4.0 liters per 100 kilometers, and 22.5 kilometers/liter, which is the equivalent of 52.9 mpg US or 4.5 liters per 100 kilometers. I believe that these numbers represent the difference between the CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) and the six speed manual transmission, but it has not been confirmed officially and is just a hunch of mine.
