Hyundai Sonata 2011 will have HD Radio

Hyundai Sonata 2011 will be available beginning this month showing off its HD Radio, that makes the auto, in Hyundai's opinion, 'the first popular midsize sedan to offer HD Radio Technology as part of its unique audio environment'.

Sonata fans, having this digital option, will enjoy rare content and brand new channels with digital sound (crystal-clear). HD Radio Technology is offering over 2,000 stations broadcasting in the country in digital, plus more than 1,000 channels HD2/HD3 - all for free, no subscription tax.

Sonata has the same diesel models debuted on Santa Fe and the ix35, having a few other diesel and gasoline powerplants available too. The vehicle, still to be unveiled on the market soon, will run with a 1.6-liter gasoline and diesel engines as basic. Using the technology involving direct injection of Hyundai, called GDI, those 1.6-liter cars make a power equal with one of a 2.0-liter.

The engines on gasoline presents a 4-cylinder 2.0-liter model developing 172 horsepower plus a Theta GDI 2.4-liter model making 200 horsepower. You'll find the latter only on the top-of-the-line Hyundai i40 (Sonata in Europe).

Euisun Chung, the vice chairman of Hyundai said 'The Sonata will set a new standard for world class mid-size sedans with state-of-the-art technology, superior build quality and emotional design. The new Sonata will raise Hyundai's brand values'.
