After being on the brink of bankruptcy and after the Fiat Group bought 20% of the company, Chrysler is slowly trying to recover from all the blows it has taken and get back on its feet. This year will be the final year of production for a legendary car, the Dodge Viper, but it seems that other models of the Dodge brand are doing just fine. For example, the Chrysler Group has revised the Dodge Nitro range for the 2010 model year.
The 2010 Dodge Nitro will be offered in three versions that are named Heat, Detonator and Shock. All of the three versions will get their power from a 4.0 liter V6 engine capable of developing 260 horsepower and 359 Nm of torque. The powerful 4.0 liter V6 is meant to replace the previous entry level 3.7 liter V6 engine that was capable of developing 210 horsepower.
All versions will come with some important standard features, including a security alarm, 20 inch alloy wheels, speed control, eight premium speakers with a 368 watt amplifier and 9 inch subwoofer, auto dimming rear view mirror, deep tinted glass, SIRIUS Satellite Radio, Uconnect Phone as well as iPod Control. The basic 2010 Dodge Nitro Heat will have a price of 23.995 dollars.
Next up in the Dodge Nitro line is the Detonator version. The 2010 Dodge Nitro Detonator gets some extra features, including color keyed premium cloth interior that matches the exterior paint color, 20 inch Mopar polished / painted alloy wheels, ParkSense rear park assist, hood decal, remote start as well as eight speakers plus subwoofer. The 2010 Dodge Nitro Detonator has a price of 25.995 dollars, which is 2000 dollars over the Heat version.
The top of the line Dodge Nitro Shock adds a sun roof and heated leather seats. The price of the Dodge Nitro Shock is of 26.995 dollars. Potential buyers have to know that the 2010 Dodge Nitro is available in nine exterior colors, including a new Detonator Yellow Clear Coat.
It will be interesting to see how well will the Dodge Nitro perform in terms of sales and if it will be able to survive in the market.
