Subaru has adopted a different strategy than usual for a new special edition model based on the Impreza WRX STI. Usually, the Japanese automaker tries to get the maximum performance out of the Impreza WRX STI when it comes to releasing a new special edition model. Well, this time, it is all about the styling.
The newest project is named Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line Type S and it is based on the Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line which was launched about one year ago, in the beginning of the year 2009. It is important to mention that the Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line Type S just like other special edition WRX STI models are JDM (Japanese Domestic Market) exclusive, so people who live in Europe or in the USA will not be getting their hands on these cars.
Returning to the Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line Type S, it will get its power from a 2.5 liter turbocharged engine that is capable of developing 300 horsepower while the powertrain is completed by a five speed automatic transmission with paddle shifts.
Some of the most important features of the Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line Type S include gold colored brake calipers, Recaro seats treated in Alcantara and leather, new lightweight alloy wheels in a gunmetal gray finish while the leather steering wheel and the door panels are accented by contrasting red stitching.
The Subaru Impreza WRX STI A-Line Type S will hit the Japanese market for a price of 3.255.000 Yen which is the equivalent of 24.400 Euro or 34.800 dollars.
The price is just fabulous and I think that if Subaru would decide to bring this model and other JDM limited edition models in Europe or the USA for a price like this, they would sell like crazy.
