Citroen C4 Arsenal FC - on auction

Citroen C4 – uniquely themed as Arsenal FC will be under the hammer at BCA Measham in the upcoming Citroen Open sale, taking place on 22th of January. The vehicle was made originally, raffled for raising Teenage Cancer Trust funds; so far it had only 2: the raffle winner plus 1 other.

Called the ‘Ultimate Arsenal Fans’ Car’, this auto was designed by Gerald Scarfe, the renowned satirist and cartoonist and shows images of Gunners heroes (the modern ones) like Arsene Wenger, Robin Van Persie, Manuel Almunia and Gael Clichy.

Harriet Eldridge, 17-year-old, shared her great ideas for the vehicle also; she was diagnosed at 14 with cancer. On the inside has been styled too with consideration to Arsenal fans, decorated on its leather seats with fabulous bespoke stitching.

Gerald Scarf (artist) affirmed 'Meeting Harriet, who had cancer when she was 14, underlined for me the importance of this excellent charity, and getting together with the players and learning about Arsenal’s rich heritage helped to inspire my designs for the car'.

Robert van Persie (his father is artist too) said about this special vehicle 'This is something different for us to be involved in and although we all play for the same team, we had very different ideas which can be seen throughout the car’s design. Manuel spoke of Club heritage, I had the idea of pace and style, and Gael had an all together different idea about ‘planet Arsenal!'.

Van Persie continued 'I guess that’s what’s wonderful about art and this car in particular, we all had our part to play and our own distinctive ideas'.
