Nowadays people want to be friendly with the environment. You are considered as being a ``gasoholic`` if you think that the whole global warming thing is just a big hoax. Today, if you want to be trendy, you have to environmental friendly, at least by speech. The automakers have noticed this and have started developing more and more cars that at least in appearance, are more environmental friendly, having lower fuel consumption and lower carbon dioxide emissions.
At the 2010 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit, Toyota has publicly presented the Toyota FT-CH. The Toyota FT-CH is a concept that wants to develop into a dedicated compact hybrid model that will be placed under the Toyota Prius in the range of models of the Japanese automaker.
The Toyota FT-CH would actually be even more fuel efficient than the Toyota Prius, if it would be ever produced, because it is lighter in terms of weight and more compact in size than the Toyota Prius .
Jim Lentz, president of Toyota USA, has stated that ``It is a package Toyota dealers and customers have been asking for``.
The Toyota FT-CH is 22 inches shorter in overall length and an inch narrower than the Toyota Prius . The Toyota FT-CH was designed at the European Design and Development center in Niece, France that is owned by Toyota.
Toyota has announced that they will launch a total of eight all new hybrid models in the next couple of years. According to the Japanese automaker, these models will not include next generation versions of current hybrids but all new dedicated hybrid vehicles or all new hybrid versions of existing gasoline engine models. The goal of the new models will be Toyota`s plan to sell over one million hybrid vehicles per year worldwide.
