The tuning enthusiasts represent a special category of car fanatics. They can be called as being the real enthusiasts of cars, as they try to get the most out of the car they are driving, both from the styling point of view and/or performance wise. Usual people are interested in the practical aspects of cars like how reliable a car is, what the fuel consumption of a car is and so on. Real enthusiasts do not care about these aspects.

There are three major tuning events in the course of a year. From a chronological point of view, the annual Tokyo Auto Salon is the first that takes place. Actually, it takes place each year in January at the Makuhari Messe in Chiba City, Japan. The Tokyo Auto Salon has been held for the past 27 years. The Tokyo Auto Salon is organized by the Nippon Auto Parts Aftermarket Committee (NAPAC).

At the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon you could see a bunch of tuning projects. Obviously, just like with regular cars, some were better while some were worse. Still, you can not say that each project was unique in its own way. The Tokyo Auto Salon is basically some of the few auto events where you can see hoods painted with an Anime hero with a sword painted, a gangster with two naked chicks next to him, three lascivious naked girls or two anime chick heroes. One of the wildest projects was a Volkswagen pickup truck that had an entire garden of flowers planted on its bed. Also, you can see tuning projects based on cars from basically all the automakers, from Ferrari to Porsche and from American muscle cars to Japanese minivans.

What you have below is a huge photo gallery in which you can see the most interesting projects present at the 2010 Tokyo Auto Salon. Enjoy the 140 photos below.
