All the automakers do the same thing when they reveal a car. I am talking about the serious promoting done in the period between the revealing and the world debut that usually takes place some months afterwards at some important auto event. This is exactly what General Motors is doing now.
After offering details a number of official photos of the new Opel Meriva , now the German automaker has decided to offer some more official photos, including pictures of the interior of the car. As you can remember, the main attraction of the new Opel Meriva is the set of ``suicide`` doors. To be more precise, the rear doors are hinged at the back and can be opened to almost 90 degrees. Other important features of the new Opel Meriva include the improved Flexspace seating system that allows the back seats to be folded down completely for optimal cargo carrying flexibility or they can be mounted back independently to create more shoulder, boot or leg room.
The dashboard of the second generation Opel Meriva is quite similar to the dashboard found on other GM models, like the 2011 Buick Regal, the new Opel Astra or the Opel Insignia, so not much innovation has been done in this sector. Some unique design cues like the styling of the air vents and others are meant to make the second generation Opel Meriva more modern in terms of design, featuring more trendy color options and upholstery patterns in order to attract a somewhat younger category of people.
The second generation Opel Meriva will get its power from a range of six turbocharged diesel and gasoline units with outputs of between 75 and 140 horsepower. Other important features include the FlexFix bicycle carrier that slides in and out of the rear bumper like a drawer, the optional full panorama sunroof which has a length of almost two meters, tissue boxes for both the front and rear passengers, the FlexRail lower center console between the seats that provides adaptable storage for a variety of objects, from magazines to iPods and handbags.
