The tuning industry is getting more and more crowded every day practically. It is extremely hard for a new tuning company to make its way in a world governed by old traditional companies that have been modifying cars for the last decades. The tuning industry is a segment of the market that has been drawing a lot more attention in the last couple of years and as a consequence the tuning business became profitable. The vast majority of tuning companies that have been formed in the last couple of years have entered the industry with exactly this thought: to earn some easy money. Well, it looks that some tuners have kept their passion for their job and try to do outrageous creations, without caring too much if it will make them rich or not.
Such an example is represented by a team of tuners from Thailand that decided to start a very bold project, based on an Opel Calibra from the 1990s. Their project is extreme as they tried to create an Aston Martin DB9 replica starting from an Opel Calibra. The fact that a group of tuners decided to do such a project is praiseworthy, without being important if the project turned out to be good or not. Obviously, we all know that the Asian tuners tend to be more ``wacky`` for our European standards, but nevertheless it is nice to see that some people have the courage to do something out of the box, taking upon themselves the risk that it might turn out to be a disaster from a commercial point of view.
To be honest, the result of their work is quite good. An untrained eye might think that the car is actually a real Aston Martin DB9 and not a replica based on an Opel Calibra. Congratulations for the hard work to the guys from Thailand. You can check out the photos showing the Aston Martin DB9 replica below.
